I am enjoying the content in your podcast. I’m at the 25 tier still waiting to be tiered up. Hopefully soon!

    1. Me too Lorraine!! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the podcast! We have an a really exciting podcast coming out this week.. Especially for those in the first Merch tier! 🙂 stay tuned!

    2. Hey Lorraine – Podcast 3 just came out. I caught up with Jacob Topping who has a really exciting new eBook coming out that will really help anyone in the 25 tier. He’s offering a pretty good discount for pre-orders too. Might be worth checking out 🙂

I learn so much from you and thank you for these podcasts! I am gearing up my POD business and taking most of your suggestions. I applied to Merch 2 months ago and will be patient, but will get things going now with my skills and knowledge base. I have been a designer/stylist most of my life so translating my past to these platforms is my goal! :))

    1. Thanks for the Comment Claire! I’m glad you’re loving the Podcast, it’s been lots of fun to create. What other platforms are you uploading designs to while you’re waiting for Merch?

I am still learning, but will start designing soon. I thought I would listen to many of the people who have blazed the trail, hoping to start out right…but even as I write this,,I better just start designing now! haha

        1. Keep on learning Claire! Practice makes perfect! 🙂 Keep an eye on the blog because I’ll have lots of tutorials over the next few months.

  3. Great article.

I’m looking to get into Merch and I have an Ipad Air 2. Would it do the same things as the Ipad Pro?

Also do you recommend using these apps over something like Photoshop?

If you do recommend Photoshop, are you going for the full online suite for $50 a month?

    Thanks.

    1. Hey Tony,

Thanks for the comment! The iPad 2 is a great device, but because it doesn’t support the Apple Pencil creating designs is a bit harder. You’ll need to look at an app called Canva or Over (Over is an iPhone app, but you can install it to your device)

I personally don’t think you need the full $50 Adobe suite to get started with Merch. I’d recommend getting started with Illustrator as that’s the industry standard and it’s really easy to use once you know all the basics. I believe Adobe offer a much cheaper price for using just a single app through it’s Adobe cloud platform. Hope that helps! 🙂
